Danau Toba Jadi Google Doodle Hari Ini, Alasannya Bikin Bangga!
Tampilan wajah pencarian Google hari ini, Kamis (31/8), tampak menarik lantaran memasang doodle bergambar Danau Toba, salah satu destinasi wisata yang paling terkenal di Sumatera Utara.
Munculnya pesona keindahan Danau Toba dalam bentuk doodle di wajah Google ini bukan tanpa alasan, melainkan untuk memperingati hari di mana tempat legenda Toba dan ikan mas ini dinobatkan sebagai UNESCO Global Geopark pada 31 Agustus 2020 lalu.
Danau Toba sendiri memang hadir dengan pesona alam yang luar biasa. Kuatnya legenda masyarakat dan banyaknya wisatawan yang datang, turut membuat Danau Toba kian santer dikenal dunia.
Karenanya, Danau Toba dimasukkan dalam daftar Destinasi Super Prioritas (DSP) oleh pemerintah Indonesia. Dengan begitu, Danau Toba mendapat perhatian khusus untuk dapat menarik wisatawan lokal maupun mancanegara bertandang ke sana.
Dilansir dari situs resmi Kemenparekraf, Danau Toba secara geologis terbentuk dari letusan Gunung Api Purba dengan intensitas yang luar biasa pada masa silam. Proses vulkanik dan teknik yang ditimbulkan oleh letusan gunung api itu, membuat Danau Toba kemudian terbentuk perlahan.
Gunung Api Purba Toba dahulunya merupakan gunung api supervolcano, yang dapat memuntahkan magma minimal 300 km3 saat meletus 74 ribu tahun lalu. Sementara letusan yang dimaksud, konon memuntahkan tidak kurang dari 2.800 km3 material vulkanik, sehingga membuat 60% populasi di bumi hampir punah.
Sementara Danau Toba yang kini dikenal luas, memiliki panjang 100 kilometer (62 mil), lebar 30 kilometer (19 mil), dan kedalaman 508 meter (1.667 ft), serta ketinggian permukaan sekitar 900 meter (2.953 ft).
